The house sits in around 1.3 private acres of what was once part of the grand Georgian walled garden of the Arthurstone estate — south-facing, sheltered, and yours. Beyond your walls, a managed communal garden is shared across the eleven homes, with its upkeep handled for you.

Facing directly south, the walled garden gives the house an idyllic setting and keeps much of the symmetry of the original planned garden: gravel pathways lined by the reputedly 1851 box hedging, with mature ornamental birch, cherry, yew and fruit trees. Peaceful corners, gravel beds, terracing, herbs and shrubs reward a slow walk.
Sheltered patio terraces margin the house itself — a suntrap for alfresco living against the backdrop of the walls.

Mature fruit trees, and woodland with long views
Within the walls there are mature fruit trees and a quiet, shaded meadow corner. To the north-west of the house lies a private woodland area with a traditional stone outbuilding, tucked into open countryside.

"Shared garden" — honestly
Privacy, plus upkeep handled
It's worth being plain about what "shared garden" means here, because it is better than it sounds. You have your own walled 1.3 acres — private, enclosed, yours. In addition, there is a managed communal garden across the estate of eleven homes, whose grounds, roads, lighting and the rest are maintained for around £80 a month. The burden of upkeep is removed; the privacy is not.
