The Cottage
A second home, on your own grounds.
In front of the main house sits a delightful former Gardener's Cottage — detached, self-contained, around 818 sq ft. It is the feature every viewer responded to, because it quietly solves a problem most houses can't: where to put the people you love — close, but with a front door of their own.
The layout
Two bedrooms, a log burner, and its own front door
The cottage comprises a sitting room with a log-burning stove, a fitted kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom — a welcoming, homely layout that works as a complete small home in its own right. It is surrounded by level lawn and well-stocked flower beds, with its own sense of arrival.
Heating is electric, with high-grade German radiators.

What it's for
One building, many lives
Multi-generational
An independent, dignified space for an elderly parent close by — or a grown child who isn't quite ready to be far away.
Guests & studio
Room for visitors to have their own door, or a quiet studio / work-from-home space a few steps from the house.
A place to work
For years, one of the present owners ran a global business remotely from the office — the short walk from the main house a daily reset, out and back, and broadband that carried multiple back-to-back video calls without a stumble.
The dual-building aspect is the single thing that turned curiosity into a conversation, again and again. For the right buyer, the cottage isn't a bonus — it's the reason.
