Location & Lifestyle
In the heart of Strathmore.
The house sits in Strathmore — the fertile plain between the Sidlaw Hills to the south and the Angus Glens to the north, famous for its scenery, its farmland, and for Glamis Castle nearby. Meigle is a short way off; Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie beyond it for everyday needs.
Getting around — honestly
You walk, or you drive. That's the point.
This is a deliberate retreat. There is no bus stop at the gate and no high street round the corner — and that is exactly what buys the silence, the dramatic skies and the privacy. The buyers who love it here love precisely that.
When you do need the world, it's closer than the seclusion suggests: Perth ~20 minutes, Dundee ~20 minutes, St Andrews about an hour. The East Coast Main Line runs from Dundee and Perth, and Dundee Airport offers a direct hop to London City. Half a day to London when you want it — and the rest of the time, you simply don't.

The land around you
Rivers, wildlife and 5,000 years of history
Rivers & hills
Salmon and trout on the Tay, Isla and Ericht; some of eastern Scotland's best hill walking in the nearby glens; skiing at Glenshee.
Wildlife
Red deer, ospreys at Loch of the Lowes, returning red kites, otters and red squirrels — a remarkable concentration within twenty miles.
Heritage
Glamis Castle, the Meigle Pictish Stones, Scone Palace and Dunsinane Hill — an unbroken timeline on the doorstep.
Food & drink
A serious table, when you want one
Perthshire eats well. Within reach are Michelin-listed kitchens — Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles among them — alongside historic distilleries at Edradour, Aberfeldy and Blair Athol, and artisan producers from Highland Wagyu to River Tay salmon. Everyday needs are covered in Meigle, Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie; the bigger shop in Perth or Dundee.

From further afield
Arriving from abroad? Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports are each within around 90 minutes by road, with Dundee Airport closer still for the London City connection — straightforward enough for those returning to Scotland, or visiting from overseas.
